São Miguel do Gostoso

The name itself is rather unique. “Gostoso” was added to São Miguel due to a peculiar resident who used to welcome travelers to his home. A natural storyteller with a flair for funny tales, he was often heard laughing contagiously, earning him the nickname “Seu Gostoso” (Mr. Delightful). This moniker, over time, became synonymous with the entire village.

The welcoming ambiance of São Miguel is one of its main attractions. The local motto “Aqui se faz gostoso” (Here it’s made delightfully) is taken to heart by the inhabitants, who excel in providing courteous and dedicated service to visitors. The town is quickly emerging as a new tourist hotspot in the Northeast, full of potential.

Located just over 100 km from Natal, the capital of Rio Grande do Norte, this former fishing village has around 10,000 inhabitants, serene beaches, and charming dirt roads. Known as “the corner of Brazil”, it is situated at the eastern tip of South America, affectionately described as “where the wind takes a turn.”

São Miguel do Gostoso is a haven for those seeking rest and a break from urban chaos. The town boasts constant sun and breeze for most of the year. Its calm and warm waters, surrounded by dunes, cliffs, and coconut trees, invite relaxation, sea baths, and appreciation of life in a rustic yet cozy setting.
